Because avoidance is the entire mechanic, reading incoming injection patterns matters more than reaction speed alone — recognizing a pattern early gives you more room to plan a clean dodge.

Since a single hit generally ends the run, it's usually safer to prioritize a guaranteed dodge over a riskier position that might let you avoid two threats at once. Staying near the center of open space rather than hugging edges also tends to leave more room to react when several injections appear close together.
