Defend the Castle

Defend the Castle is a straightforward tower-defense strategy game: you're given a castle, a king to protect, and a steady stream of enemies who won't stop coming. Between waves, you spend gold and wood to build and upgrade defenses — cannons for raw damage, archers for coverage — and the real skill is in the timing and placement.

Controls are mouse- or touch-based throughout. Select a defense from your available options, place it, and manage your resources as new waves increase in size and difficulty. There's no separate combat mode to learn; positioning your defenses well before a wave hits is most of the battle.

Because gold and wood are limited, it pays to plan a couple of waves ahead rather than reacting to what's already attacking. Early on, spreading a few cheap defenses across likely approach routes tends to hold up better than pouring every resource into one heavily upgraded tower — you can consolidate once you have a clearer read on where enemies are concentrating.
